Pirate Wrestlers "NENAC Champions"!!!
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe Plainview Wrestling Team defended their NENAC title last night with wins over Elkhorn Valley, Crofton, Neligh and Creighton. Last seasons conference title was expected, but this season it was really earned. It is a battle to beat good teams in a dual with two open weight class. The kids were just able to out wrestle Crofton and Creighton in the weight classes that we were able to put kids on the mat.
In the first dual, Plainview defeated EV 63-12. Nick Niles was wrestler of the dual with a 17-11 win over John Douglas. In the second dual Plainview defeated a tough Crofton team 38-20. Wrestlers of the dual were Austin Pittet with an exciting overtime win and Teran Boyer win a dominate 10-3 decision over a state placer from last season. Plainview defeated Neligh 54-16 in the third dual. Wrestler of the dual was Brandon Wills with a pin over Derek Delaney. In the final dual, Plainview won a well contested dual over Creighton 44-28. Jake Jessen was the wrestler of the dual with a pin over Dan Krupicka.
The wrestlers that finished the night undefeated were Dalton Bevill, Teran Boyer, Tyler Steinkraus, Caden Alexander, Alex Clark and Brandon Wills. Jake Jessen, Lucas Sirek and Nathan Wragge were all 3-1. Chaz Neuhaus, Steven Christiansen, Colin Christiansen and Jacob Zern were all undefeated in jv action.
