FCCLA Plans for Hometown Holidays
FCCLA members are busy preparing activities for Hometown Holidays which will be on Saturday, Dec.12th. Members will be baking and preparing plates of goodies Saturday morning which will be delivered later that night to homebound residents in the Plainview area. "We are looking forward to preparing the goodies and delivering them and the soup to the residents. Hopefully this will help the residents feel like they are still connected with the community holiday activities even if they are unable to leave their home to attend them." stated Kelsey Bonta and Jesslyn Aschoff.
The afternoon will be spent helping out with sleigh rides at D and K Lanes and assisting Santa as he visits with all the children. During the late afternoon and evening hours the members will be assisting the community club with their soup supper and delivering their home baked goodies along with soup to the homebound residents. A list of names of homebound residents who would enjoy the food items is being updated daily in the Family and Consumer Sciences classroom.
