FFA District LSE Contest
On Friday Dec 5th the Plainview FFA took 28 students to Pierce to compete in the District Leadership Skills Events contests or LSE’s. Students competed in various speaking events as well as parliamentary procedure contest and Ag quiz bowl.
In the Job interview contest Plainview was represented by Jasmine Zuhlke and Rosemary Gubbels. In the Jr. parliamentary procedure contest, Plainveiw had two teams: Matthew Bonta, Elizabeth Kment, Brittani Wacker, Jordyn Anderson, Austin Choat, Kylee Jipp, and Kailee Rafert on team 1 received a blue ribbon, and the team of MacKenzie Eskey Brittany Pellatz, Tait Ziems, Matthew Hoffman, Rosemary Gubbels, Jasmin Zuhlke, and Cole Kuzel received a red ribbon. On Jh Quiz bowl, ,Plainview had two teams who both received blue ribbons. Team one was Jacob Hoffman, John Schlote, Carissa Wacker, and Becca Kment, and team two was Klarissa Norris, Abby Rafert, and Sophie Macgregor. In the last team event, Ag Demnonstration, Plainview's team of McKenzie Brozek and Stephanie Sorensen, received a red, and the ag demo of Ryan,Elijah and Brandon Pellatz received a blue ribbon and is the first alternate to the state competition. In the individual speaking events, Kylee Jipp received a blue ribbon, in Sr public speaking. Brittany Pellatz, and Austin Choat received a red and blue ribbon respectively in Jr public speaking. Jordan Anderson received a blue and second place in cooperative speaking. Both MacKenzie Eskey and Caitlyn Hart received blue ribbons in extemp speaking. Both Elizabeth Kment and Matthew Bonta received blues in Creed speaking. In natural resources speaking, Brittani Wacker received a red and Nathan Choat was the district champion receiving a purple and qualifying for the state contest. Carissa Wacker was the District champion in the new Ag literacy speaking event receiving a purple ribbon and qualifying for the state contest. In Discovery speaking Klarissa Norris received a blue ribbon, and Becca Kment was the district champion receiving a purple ribbon and qualifying for the state contest. Becca was also the district champion in the People in ag presentation and received a purple ribbon.
