Creighton Speech Meet
On Saturday, March 4th, the Plainview Speech team brought home the team CHAMPIONSHIP trophy from the Creighton Invite. Over 15 schools were present at that meet, with several who have experienced a great deal of success throughout the season.
Plainview earned the top rank with 12 finalists in varsity competition and a team score of 74 points, defeating Wausa who had 8 varsity finalists and a score of 60 points, followed by Clearwater-Orchard with 39 points, and West Holt with 33 points.
Plainview’s medalists on the Varsity level:
1st place medalist: Austin Choat, humorous prose; Nikki Mosel, informative
2nd place medalists: Autumn Ickler in serious prose; Elle Kment, poetry and informative
3rd place medalists: Kylee Jipp in serious prose; the OID team of Morgyn, Brittani, Matt Hoffmann, Matthew Bonta, and John Novicki
4th place medalists: Austin Choat and Autumn Ickler, 4th in duet acting;
5th place: Jordyn Anderson in extemp; Brittani Wacker, in persuasive; Morgyn Christiansen, in entertainment
6th place: Nikki and Kylie Mosel, in duet acting
In novice competition,
Alexa Meyer earned 1st in persuasive and Ashlyn Ickler earned 1st place in serious prose, Becca Kment earned 2nd place in serious prose; and Ashlynn earned 2nd in poetry; Klarissa Norris earned 3rd place in informative speaking; and the OID team of Klarissa, Becca, Alexa, Sohie MacGregor and Abby Rafert earned 3rd place.
