Lewis and Clark Conference Speech Meet
Congratulations to the Plainview Speech team who placed 3rd out of 17 teams at the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament on March 6. Ten Pirates qualified for the Championship round and eight Pirates qualified for the Honors round.
Plainview had four champions; more than any other team. Champions were Nikki Mosel, informative; Morgyn Christiansen, entertainment; Matthew Bonta, persuasive; and the duet acting team of Austin Choat and Autumn Ickler. Second place medalists were Nikki Mosel and Kylie Mosel in duet acting and Autumn Ickler in serious prose. The third place medalist was Brittani Wacker in persuasive speaking. Fourth place medalists were Kylee Jipp, serious prose; Austin Choat, humorous prose; and the OID team of Morgyn Christiansen, Brittani Wacker, Matt Hoffmann, Matthew Bonta, and John Novicki.
In the Honors round, Elizabeth Kment received first place in informative and Jordyn Anderson earned first place in extemp. Jake Lingenfelter was a second place medalist in entertainment. Receiving third place medals was the OID team of Jake Lingenfelter, Carissa Wacker, Adedamola Akkinnigbagbe, Jacob Hoffmann, and Grace Hoffman. Kylie Mosel received a fifth place medal in humorous prose.
The team travels to Wayne State College on Monday, March 13, for districts. The competition begins at 9:00 AM.
