NELIGH GOLF
The Plainview boys golf team participated in their third meet of the season when they traveled to Neligh for a quadrangular involving Neligh-Oakdale, Elkhorn Valley, Pierce, and the Pirates. The team was not full as Tyler Masat was at State FFA. The meet was won by Pierce with a 177 score. The other three teams were also short players.
Jake Lingenfelter was third as an individual with a score of 43. Lingenfelter was only three over until the last two holes when putting problems caused two double-bogies. Lingenfelter is playing a smart game that will improve his scores as the season progresses. Kenny Hart had three lost balls sandwiched around a par on the first four holes to ruin his score. Hart continued to struggle as a water ball on the last hole gave him a 57. Colin Springer also finished with a 57. Springer started off okay but he had tree problems on the next several holes before he was able to record a par. Springer was unable to score very well on his last three holes after the par but he will be on familiar ground on Saturday and should score much better. Jacob Zeigenbein played from the 150 stakes and he recorded a 58. Zeigenbein is continuing to improve but he is still not ready for the full tees.
