GOLF AT ORCHARD
On Tuesday, April 11 the Plainview golf team traveled to Summerland golf course for a triangular with Orchard-Clearwater and Niobrara-Verdigre. An opportunity to pick up two wins as neither team had ever beaten the Pirates in a meet was lost with some poor judgment. Orchard-Clearwater had 185 as a team while the Pirates barely edged Niobrara-Verdigre 208-209.
Jake Lingenfelter led the team with a 47 as he was only able to score one par. Tyler Masat had not played for a week but was able to play the first eight holes at bogie golf until the 9th hole. Masat finished at 49.
Colin Springer had tree trouble most of the meet when he was able to put one par on his score-card. Springer had never played such extra large greens and they gave him trouble. Kenny Hart ended the team scoring with a 58. Hart has been unable to match his opening season score as he is pressing too hard. Hart needs to take the safer route when he gets into trouble.
Jordan Booth, playing in his third meet, shot a 64. Booth also had trouble with the greens. Jacob Zeigenbein continued to improve as he played the "150's". Zeigenbein shot 54.
This leaves the Pirate record at 1-5.
