GIRLS GOLF AT NORFOLK CATHOLIC
The Plainview girls golf team hosted Norfolk Catholic in a dual on September 1 at the Plainview Country Club. While the team did not win the dual, they shot their low team score of the year of 275. Norfolk Catholic shot 204 as they were led by medalist, Chelsey Reifert, who had 42.
Elle Kment led the Pirates with 58. Kment started off with 6 over on the first hole. Kment recovered nicely and went 6 over next 5 holes. While not playing as well on the last three holes, Kment she still had a respectable round. Tabby Johnston had her low round of the year as she recorded a 68. Johnston had some penalty problems that kept her from going lower.
Kayla Johnston shot 75 to record her career low round. Johnston played well except for two double-digit scores. As Johnston gains confidence, she should shot even lower. Becca Kment ended the team scoring with a 76. This is a career low for Kment. Kment had three good holes that helped off-set some double-digit holes. Alexa Meyer had her score of 90 not used in the team scoring. This is the fifth career full round of these three girls. They are very eager to learn and should improve as the season progresses.
Jessica Stark and Aaliyah Brown were unable to participate in the dual for various reasons.
The Pirates will dual Stanton at Elkhorn Acres on September 5 before playing in the Pierce Invite on September 9.
