GIRLS GOLF AT O'NEILL
On September, 26th, the Plainview girls golf team hosted the O'Neill dual and the O'Neill reserve tournament because the O'Neill course was in use. O'Neill varsity won with a 212 while Plainview did not field a full team to allow the younger girls to play in the reserve tournament. Nikki Gotschall led O'Neill with 46. Becca Kment was low for Plainview with 58. Kment has continued to play steady golf. Tabby Johnston shot 59. Johnston had too many scores of 7 before a bogie on the last hole. Elle Kment was never able to have any rhythm and ended up with 60.
In the reserve portion of the meet, all four of the girls were able to medal. The reserves played from the gold youth tees but were not limited on their strokes. Kayla Johnston, who has been playing varsity for the Pirates to compete as a team, shot 55 to take medalist honors. Alexa Meyer took the third place medal with 61. Aaliyah Brown was fourth with 63. Jessica Stark was fifth with 69. Johnston and Meyer will move back to the varsity for districts that are Monday, October 2.
