As Chase Largen of Creighton and Mason Hale battled it out for medalist honors, the two teams also battled it out for the team title. Creighton won the title even though each team placed three players in the top ten.
Jake Lingenfelter led Plainview to a 10th place finish with their lowest team score of the season. The third hole on each round kept Lingenfelter from placing high that 13th. A par on each round would have moved him up 8 places. Matt Hoffmann shot a career low of 48 on the front nine. On the back nine, Hoffmann had two 8s that pushed him to a 55 and a 101 total for the day.
Colin Springer had a problem with an 8 on the front nine and two 8s on the back nine as he shot 50-52. Springer is struggling with consistency of distance as he has changed his tempo of his swing. Each meet he becomes more familiar to eliminate the high scores on any hole. Riley Kaup ended the team scoring as he shot 50-53. Kaup also struggled with a hole (#6) that prevented him from a very good round. Kaup's back nine included a birdie and two pars on the par 3s. Both Springer and Kaup must learn to not let a bad shot bother them by hitting another bad shot. Jordan Booth's score did not count in the team standing. Booth had a poor first round of 59 but he did improve to 52 on the back nine.
