Harvest of Harmony
On Saturday, October 6, members of the Junior High and High School bands traveled to Grand Island to compete in the 71st Annual Harvest of Harmony Parade. This marks Plainview’s debut performance at the competition. The Bands marched the streets of downtown Grand Island along with 91 other bands. Of those entries, were bands of all classes ranging from AA to D. Plainview competed against all other C schools. Although the band did not place in the top 3, members of the band felt it was a great experience and had a great time! Rachel Sorensen, Plainview’s Drum Majorette and Senior stated: “Even though we didn’t place in the top three, it was till a great experience. We sounded great and had a fun time marching, despite the cold. I think it’s a great contest to look forward to it again next year”. Also very enthusiastic about the experience was Senior Corby Forbes: “Being the first time we’ve performed at Harvest of Harmony, I’d have to say that the experience was amazing. It got my adrenaline pumping the whole time, especially marching through the underpass”.
The Bands look forward to competing in the future and gaining experience in the world of competing bands!
