FCCLA Holds Red Cross Blood Drive
The Plainview FCCLA Chapter hosted a Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, September 14th at Plainview High School. With a goal set by the Red Cross of 42 donations, the drive fell 4 donations short, collecting 38 units. Those who donated received a special football t-shirt from the Red Cross. "We would like to thank everyone attending the drive for taking the time to come in and donate. The number of individuals who were able to donate double reds that day made a huge difference in donation totals. Everyone’s donation is appreciated along with the commitment you have made to continually donate. Thank you also to the first timers," stated FCCLA Adviser Ronita Jacobsen. "It’s not just donors who need to be thanked. Many people who are unable to donate contributed in a variety of way…covering for a co-worker so they could donate, adjusting schedules, setting up and taking down, etc. Thank you to everyone.”
The next blood drive has been set for November 16th from 9am-3pm at the high school. Donors can go online at redcross.org to make their next appointment. Registering early ensures the time slot that works best for you. As a reminder, the total number of donations received this school year determines the amount of scholarship money provided to our Plainview High School students from the Red Cross.
