FCCLA Red Cross Blood Drive Collects 38 Units
The Plainview FCCLA Chapter hosted a Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, March 12, at Plainview High School. With a goal set by the Red Cross of 45 donations, the drive fell just short of reaching its goal by collecting 38 donations. With the increased use of Rapid Pass and appointments, the donation process went smoothly.
"We would like to thank everyone for coming in to donate blood and for scheduling their appointments." stated FCCLA Adviser Ronita Jacobsen. "Everyone’s donations and commitment to donating is greatly appreciated. I was glad we were able to accommodate most walk-ins. This was a busy day in our community so between scheduling conflicts and illness I was pleased with our results.”
The next blood drive will be held Wednesday, May 15, from 9 am-3 pm in the Plainview High School Tartan Gym. Donors can go online at redcross.org to make their appointment. Registering early ensures the time slot that works best for you. Currently there are 59 appointment times and a goal of 38 donations. As a reminder, the total number of donations received throughout the school year determines the amount of scholarship money provided to our Plainview High School students from the Red Cross.
