FCCLA Blood Drive Falls Short of Goal
The Plainview FCS Classes and FCCLA Chapter hosted a Red Cross Blood Drive on March 20 at Plainview High School. With a goal set by the Red Cross of 64 donations, the drive fell short of reaching its goal by collecting 28 donations. “With everything that has happened in our and surrounding communities in the last week I felt like donors might not be able to make it in. However, 28 donations are great to have and are very much needed and appreciated at the moment." stated FCCLA Adviser Ronita Jacobsen. "Thank you to all that were able to make it in to donate. I believe it’s important to thank everyone, not just the donors. Many people who are unable to donate contribute in a variety of way…covering for a co-worker so they can donate, adjusting schedules, donating food items, setting up and taking down, and offering support in many ways. Thank you to all!”
The next Red Cross Blood Drive will be held May 21st sponsored the Social Center. Everyone who donated at this drive will be eligible to donate again. Please plan to attend the Red Cross Blood Drives in the future as the total number of donations received also determines the amount of scholarship money provided to our Plainview High School students from the Red Cross.”
