Due to the Food pantry items running low, the Intro to HSR class decided to run a Food Drive to help restock the pantry with a goal of 250 items. Class members Kayla Thompson, Tiffani Elwood, Nelia Campbell, Steven Christiansens, and Jesse Clark organized a competition for the elementary classes, elementary staff, high school grades, and high school staff. Mrs. Jensen’s kindergarten class won the whole food drive competition by donating 66 items. The sophomores class won the high school competition with 29 donations from Briana Hamm, Heidi Orano, Steven Christiansen, and Kelsey Bonta. The high school staff won with donation of 28 items. As winners, the kindergarten class was treated with Gummy Worm Punch, Puppy Chow, Eyeball Cookies, and Pumpkin Brownies. The high school staff was given nacho dip and chips throughout the day while the donating sophomores received super-sized potions of scotcheroo bars. “Even though the food pantry now looks good, we are still going to follow through with our plans for the FFA and FCCLA to compete against each other during a food drive scavenger hunt in November.” Stated Nelia Cambell.
