Golfers Win Triangular
The Plainview girlsâ golf team hosted Crofton and Hartington CC in a triangular on September 19th. Behind medallist Stephanie Sorensen, the Pirates won the triangular with a 221. Hartington CC had 225 while Crofton shot 237. This moves the varsity record to 3-1.
With Stephanie Sorensen carding a six or below on her card she was able to shot a 49 to lead the team to victory. Erika Neumann with a career low of 52 was not far behind as she played steady golf. Neumann continues to provide depth for the team. Rachel Sorensen had two bad holes otherwise she would have been able to match her score of last Saturday. Sorensen finished with a 54. Morgan Johnston with her first career varsity start kept away from any double-digit holes and shot 66 to complete the team scoring. Kaytlyn Johnston, again with a âthe Beauty and the Beastâ round had a 70.
Darian Bowers-73, Michaela Sirek-74, and Kirsten Cattell-81 played in a reserve role. These girls continue to improve with every practice. Every match they will have one or two holes that they can brag about.
The varsity travels to Wayne for their Invitational before hosting the NENAC Conference tournament on Saturday, September 24th.
