4th Place For The Golfers
The Plainview girlsâ golf team competed at Oakland on October 1 in the Oakland-Craig Invite. This invite gives the girls a chance to see some different teams from the east. The Pirates placed 4th with 437. Brittany White who played her most consistent golf of the year led the team with 53-52. This earned her the 12th place medal. White followed the course management plan well. Right behind White was Rachel Sorensen with 50-56. Sorensen received the 15th place medal. Sorensen also followed the course management plan but one hole on the back kept her from placing in the top ten. Briana Hamm opened with 58 when she encountered several penalty strokes. Hamm played the back nine very well except for one hole to finish with 54. Stephanie Sorensen started on the back nine where she never was in rhythm and shot 63. Sorensen was encouraged to play better on the front and came back with 51. Erika Neumann also started on the back nine and was unable to avoid the many hazards on the back to shoot 67. Neumann then improved on the front to have a respectable 59.
This completes regular season play as the girls have districts at Wayne on October 4th.
