FCCLA District STAR 2012 Video

Six FCCLA members, along with Adviser Ronita Jacobsen, traveled to Wayne State College, Wednesday, January 18, to compete in the 2012 District 8 STAR Events.  Kelsey Cattell received 2nd place Runner-Up Silver in Job Interview. MIchaela Sirek received 2nd place silver in Teach and Train.  Natalie Lingenfelter received 2nd place silver in Chapter Showcase.  Kaelee Van Every and Erika Neumann received a silver medal in Focus on Children "Fitness for Fun" and Autumn Ickler received a silver medal in her Family Challenges and Issues presentation "Bullying". 

STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) are competitive events in which members are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual project,s, leadership skills, and career preparation.  STAR Events offer individual skill development and application of learning through the following activities:

  • cooperative-teams work to accomplish specific goals
  • individualized-an individual members works along to accomplish specific goals
  • competitive-individual or team performance measured by an established set of criteria
