NENAC Results 2012!
Congratulations to the Plainview Speech Team who had medalists in 7 of the 9 events at NENAC competition on Saturday, including 3 champions. As a team, they earned third place, getting edged out by Crofton (runner-up) and Creighton (champions). NENAC Champions were Kelsey Bonta in persuasive, Cherise Friedrich in humorous prose, and Morgan Hall in informative. Bringing home second-place medals were Cody Mosel, entertainment, and the duet-acting team of Shelby Wattier and Sara Christiansen. Matt Watson, earned 3rd in entertainment; Shelby Wattier, 4th in humorous prose; Briana Hamm, 4th in persuasive; Heidi Orona, 6th in poetry; and Brittany White, 6th in informative. In NENAC and district competition, each team can enter only 2 students per event. The team will compete at Creighton this week, where all members will participate, followed by a small meet at OâNeill St. Maryâs on March 5th, then districts on Wednesday, March 14 in Hartington. Kelsey Bontaâs gold medal marks the 4th year in a row she has been a NENAC champion in her individual event; and for Cherise Friedrich, itâs the third year in a row she has been donned champion in humorous prose.
