Junior Speech Meet Draws Big Crowd!

May 01, 2012

After spending the last few weeks memorizing their scripts and rehearsing, twenty-eight junior high students competed in this year's speech exhibition and competition. Each student had a "personal" coach--one of the high school speech team members--who guided and advised them along the way. Students performed in one of the following individual events--informative, entertainment, humorous prose, serious prose, or poetry; and several also participated in an O.I.D. (group) event. The event drew a large crowd, and the O.I.D.'s performed to a packed house in the library. The evening concluded with a few games for the junior high students, followed by an awards presentation.
