Speech Team brings home RUNNER-UP NENAC plaque
In the last year of existence for the NENAC Conference, the Plainview Speech Team made it in the record books one more time. The team brought home the runner-up plaque and 13 medals on Saturday, February 23rd.
The team was led again by returning seniors, Morgan Hall and Sara Christiansen, who were double-medal winners in their individual events. Morgan was a champion in informative and earned 2nd place in extemporaneous speaking. Sara earned 2nd in poetry and 4th in persuasive.
Other members bringing home two medals were Jordan Mosel, 3rd in serious and 2nd in OID; Colin Wright, 3rd in entertainment and 2nd in OID, and Darian Grof, 6th in persuasive and 5th in extemporaneous speaking.
The OID team earning 2nd place also included Derick Mosel, Blake Christiansen, and Nicole White. Other medalists included Kami Johnson & Ericka Albin, 4th in duet acting; Jason Gutz, 6th in humorous prose; Skylar Hoscheit, 6th in serious prose; Tyler Friedrich, 6th in Entertainment.
This week, the team travels to compete at Norfolk High, followed by Districts on Tuesday, March 12th, which will be held at O’Neill St. Mary’s starting at 9:00 a.m.
