FCCLA Food Drive Collects Over 250 Items!
Over 250 food items for the Plainview Food Pantry were gathered the night of November 12th through the generous contributions of Plainview residents and members of FCCLA. Members met in the FCS room at 5:00 for instructions and to break into 3 equal sized “teams”. The town was divided into three sections with each team receiving one section to use when “scavengering” for food. Members were also given door hangers to hang on the doorknobs of donating homes thanking them for their contribution. Teams returned 30 minutes later with boxes, bags, and armloads of donated items. Members then enjoyed hot chocolate and snacks while playing a few games before the event ended. “I wish to thank all those who participated,” stated Erika Neumann, coordinator of the event. “It was fun to include the community when organizing the event. With everyone’s help we achieved the goal of replenishing the food pantry for the upcoming holiday. We are fortunate to live in such a giving community.”
