Blood Drive Meets Goal of 65
The Plainview Chapters of FCCLA, FEA, FFA, NTHS, and NHS hosted a Red Cross Blood Drive on February 11 at Plainview High School. With a goal set by the Red Cross of 65 donations, the drive met its goal by collecting exactly 65 donations. “As you can see, every donation does count. The high number of people who are repeat donors and those who come and donate for the first time continually impresses me," stated FCCLA Adviser Ronita Jacobsen. "However, it’s not just donors who need to be thanked. Many people who are unable to donate contribute in a variety of way…covering for a co-worker so they could donate, adjusting schedules, donating food items, setting up and taking down, etc. The elementary students did an amazing job at becoming Pint Size Heros. Almost 20 of the donations came from donors recruited by an elementary student. Elementary students who recruited someone received a gift from the Red Cross. They should be commended for their efforts.”
The next blood drive will be held in June and sponsored by FFA. Please plan to attend as the total number of donations received determines the amount of scholarship money provided to our Plainview High School students from the Red Cross.
