NTHS Inducts Members

May 12, 2015

National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) inducted 8 members during its induction ceremony on May 12th, prior to the Honors Night Program.  The Plainview High School NTHS Chapter recognizes and honors students for outstanding achievement in their career and technical education programs. This recognition is achieved through a nomination, evaluation, and selection process based upon exemplary citizenship, leadership, workmanship, and scholarship.  The highest recognition bestowed upon career and technical education students is through membership in the National Technical Honor Society.

President Stephanie Sorenson, Vice-President Tyan Boyer, and Secretary/Treasurer Dylan Moore conducted the candle ceremony, which describe the seven membership attributes. Following, eight juniors and seniors were inducted.  Seniors inducted were Merrick Alexander, McKenzie Brozek, Morgan Hampton, Miranda Hoffart, Heidi Nelson, and Ashley Shaffer.  Juniors inducted were Nathan Choat and Jason Gutz.  Members received a certificate of membership, membership card and pin, tassel, and NTHS sticker emblem.

Following the membership induction, officers for the 2015-2016 School Year were installed.  Jason Gutz was installed as President and Nathan Choat was installed as Vice-President.

Gutz and Choat presented the seniors with their diploma seals and NTHS medallions, which will be worn at graduation.

NTHS Advisers are Ronita Jacobsen, Chad Kment, Mary Sterkel, Brett Arehart, and Tammy Schindler.
