FCCLA Week Celebrated
Plainview FCCLA celebrated FCCLA this past week by focusing on how Plainview High School and its student fit into being FAMILY, CAREER, and COMMUNITY LEADERS of AMERICA. Monday students were encouraged to come dressed in their “Pirate Gear” as everyone at the school is part of the Plainview Pirate “FAMILY”.
Several students took advantage of the photo booth which included a “ship” and props to dress up like a pirate. FCCLA members spent time after school making hundreds of candgrams. Tuesday started out with FCCLA Members passing out those candygrams before school. Everyone was encouraged to wear red for Valentine’s Day and/or to wear their “CAREER Gear”. Student Kayla Johnson participated by wearing scrubs to demonstrate here future career as a nurse. Wednesday found students wearing specific colors per class to show that each student is a “COMMUNITY” member to their class. Teachers were also encouraged to participate by wearing a Plainview Pirate Shirt. Thursday was “LEADER” Day as students were encouraged to wear a t-shirt that showed which school or community organization they belonged to. Some students who are involved in several organizations had a hard time selecting just one organization and decided to “layer it up” to not leave anything out. FCCLA members appreciated everyone’s support and participation in their activities. The spirit of FCCLA will continue with several community events planned for the spring: March 2nd Red Cross Blood Drive, March 25th Jazzercise for Life, and April 1st Community Easter Egg Hunt.
