GIRLS GOLF AT PIERCE
The Plainview girls golf team traveled to the Pierce golf course for the Pierce Invite on September 9. The team finished 10 out of the 14 teams that participated with their lowest team score of the year of 521. Their second round team score of 248 was the lowest score of the year. Pierce edged out West Holt with a score of 390 to 392.
Tabby Johnston led the Pirates with her lowest rounds of the year of 61-58. Johnston has the ability to go even lower when she masters the putting game. Elle Kment had a lost ball on the opening hole that set the tone for the next few holes before she settled down and played better. Kment shot 66-59 that is around her average for the year.
Kayla Johnston had her two lowest round of the year also of 73-64. Johnston is a left-hander and it is hard for her to observe a correct swing. However, she was able to see a good swing and has been improving since. Becca Kment continued the trend of shooting her lowest scores of the year as she shot 73-67. Kment's opening round had a high-lite of recording her first par to off-set a double-digit hole. Aaliyah Brown had her scores of 74-77 not used in the team score. These are Brown's best scores playing in a varsity role.
