FCCLA Red Cross Blood Drive Meets Goal
The Plainview FCCLA Chapter hosted a Red Cross Blood Drive on January 14th at Plainview High School. With a goal set by the Red Cross of 38 donations, the drive met its goal by collecting 41 donations. “We had a great turn out and were busy throughout the day. As the last hour drew near and the goal was close, donors came in to help meet the goal." stated FCCLA Adviser Ronita Jacobsen. "I believe it’s important to thank everyone, not just the donors. Many people who are unable to donate contribute in a variety of way…covering for a co-worker so they can donate, adjusting schedules, donating food items, setting up and taking down, and offering support in many ways.”
The next blood drive will be held March 17 from 9 am–3 pm. Everyone who donated at this drive will be eligible to donate again, except those who gave Power Reds also known as “doubles”. Power Red donors may donate again on May 20th at the Social Center. Please plan to attend the Red Cross Blood Drives as the total number of donations received also determines the amount of scholarship money provided to our Plainview High School students from the Red Cross.
