FCCLA Collects Food for Local Food Pantry
FCCLA members met, Tuesday, November 7th, for their Annual Food Pantry Drive. Members divided into groups and selected different areas of Plainview to ask residents for donations of non-perishable food items. Members spent an hour driving throughout Plainview collecting donations for our local Food Pantry. When returning, members counted the items for documentation for their state record keeping. Members were excited to find out that they had collected just over 350 items. “Members want to thank the community for their gracious contributions. With these donations, families in our community will continue to have their needs met," stated adviser FCCLA Ronita Jacobsen. FCCLA Members will be delivering the food to the Plainview Food Pantry in time for Thanksgiving needs.
The night concluded with members calling for the Red Cross Blood Drive which will be held November 21st from 9am to 3pm at Plainview High School. Members were reminded to set appointments to meet with Mrs. Jacobsen to write their Power of One contracts and to work on their STAR Projects.
