August 28, 2025

Learning more about FCCLA through the STEP ONE Project was the goal of the Aug. 27th FCCLA meeting. The night began with FCCLA Human BINGO where members tried to get BINGO and then BLACKOUT by seeing which members could answer different FCCLA questions, had attended different FCCLA events, and had been various places.  BINGO winners received candy and root beer floats were given out at the conclusion.

The meeting portion of the night followed. Discussed was fundraising which is currently being held.  All money and forms are due in by Sept. 5th. Profits may go towards dues, t-shirts, and conference registrations.  The first conference is the Fall Leadership Conference, to be held in at Wayne State College Sept. 15. with a cost of $25.  Registration and fee is due Sept. 3.  This is a great conference to start the year with for all members. The $15 for T-shirt orders is also due by Sept 5th.

To conclude the night, members were divided into teams and sent on a Scavenger Hunt with prompts regarding FCCLA. They then searched the school for clues for items which contained the answers to the question prompts. This helped them to complete their STEP ONE project. New members completing the project will receive their certificate at FCCLA Honors Night in the spring. New members who could not attend may still complete the project and earn a certificate by doing a STEP ONE Webquest.

The next meeting will be September 8th at 6:30 pm to begin Power of One Projects and to discuss STAR Projects.  Call for the Blood Drive will also happen that night.
