CTSO's Hold Food Drive for Local Food Pantry
Plainview CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organization) members met Monday, November 3rdh, for their Annual Food Pantry Drive. FFA, FCCLA, Educators Rising, National Technical Honor Society, Chapter Members all joined forces to gather food for the Plainview Community Food Pantry. As many students are members of more than one organization, members felt this would be an excellent project to do together.
Members began the night by dividing into mixed groups and then selected different areas of Plainview to ask residents for donations of non-perishable food items. Members spent an hour driving throughout Plainview collecting. When returning, members counted the items for documentation for their state record keeping. Members were excited to find out that they had collected right at 350 items.“Members want to thank the community for their gracious contributions. With these donations, families in our community will continue to have their needs met," stated FCCLA/NTHS Adviser and Educators Rising Teacher Leader Ronita Jacobsen. CTSO Representatives have since delivered the items to the Plainview Food Pantry where they are now ready to be used to meet family needs.
