GOLF AT ROLLING HILLS
The Plainview boys golf team participated in their second meet of the season when they traveled to Rolling Hills Golf Course on March 27, 2017. Again, they were unable to field a full team as they were missing Kenny Hart. However, the varsity members who played did well as Tyler Masat placed 6th while Jake Lingenfelter was 7th. Masat playing in his first meet of the season shot 43. Masat finished his round by getting a par on each of the last two holes. These holes are considered the hardest two of the course. Lingenfelter shot 44 as his short game was not working that led to a bogie on each hole except one. Colin Springer finished his round with a score of 61. This is Springer's second course outside of the Plainview course so his score was not that far worse than the last dual. Springer is still learning how far each of his clubs will travel to prevent giving away a shot a hole. Springer will make a respectable 4th man for the team.
Also each team had 1to 3 beginning golfers, they were divided in two 4-somes and played from 150 yds. Jordan Booth tied for the low score as he shot a 52. Booth showed improvement around the green from the last dual to lower his score. Jacob Ziegenbein tied for 3rd with a 53. Ziegenbein had two holes that kept him from a much lower score. As these two golfers continue to improve, they will be test on the regular tees.
The next competition for the golfers is April 6th at the Antelope CC in a quadrangular with Pierce, Neligh-Oakdale, and Elkhorn Valley.
