FCCLA Collects Over 350 Items for Local Food Pantry
Eight FCCLA members met for their Annual Food Pantry Drive on November 1st. Members divided into groups and selected different areas of Plainview to ask residents for donations of non-perishable food items. Members spent over an hour driving throughout Plainview collecting the food for our local Food Pantry. When returning, members counted the items for documentation for their state record keeping. Members were excited to find out that they had collected a total of 362 items. “Members want to thank the community for their gracious contributions. This is the most food members have collected in years. With these donations, families in our community will continue to have their needs met," stated adviser FCCLA Ronita Jacobsen. FCCLA Members delivered the food to the Plainview Food Pantry on Thursday.
The night concluded with a pizza party and treat bags, all compliments of Casey's. Members also held their monthly meeting. Plans were finalized for those attending the Mind-Bending Conference being held in Kearney on November 9. Members have started calling for the Red Cross Blood Drive being held Tuesday, November 16th from 9:00 am-2:30 pm. The FCCLA Christmas Party was also set for December 6 at 6:30.
