FCCLA Meets Red Cross Blood Drive Goal
Thirty-nine units were collected at the Red Cross Blood Drive, hosted by Plainview FCCLA Members, on Tuesday, November 16th at Plainview High School. With a goal set by the Red Cross of 36 donations, the drive was steady throughout the day and exceeded expectations by 3 units. Donors should receive, within the next week or so, a $10 Amazon e-gift card from the Red Cross as a thank you.
"We would like to thank everyone attending the drive for taking the time to come in and donate. Thank you to those 4 first timer blood donors! Everyone’s donation is appreciated along with the commitment you have made to continually donate." stated FCCLA Adviser Ronita Jacobsen. "We were able to accommodate walk-ins due to cancellations that occurred the day before and day of the drive. These walk-ins made up the difference and helped us to achieve our goal.”
The next blood drive has been set for January 11th from 9am-2:30pm at the high school. Donors can go online at redcross.org to make their next appointment. Registering early ensures the time slot that works best for you. As a reminder, the total number of donations received this school year determines the amount of scholarship money provided to our Plainview High School students from the Red Cross.
