National Technical Honor Society Inducts Members
National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) inducted 3 members during its induction ceremony Monday, May 9. The Plainview High School NTHS Chapter recognizes and honors students for outstanding achievement in their career and technical education programs. This recognition is achieved through a nomination, evaluation, and selection process based upon exemplary citizenship, leadership, workmanship, and scholarship. The highest recognition bestowed upon career and technical education students is through membership in the National Technical Honor Society.
President Peace Akinnigbagbe, along with current members and inductees, conducted the candle ceremony, which describes the seven membership attributes. Following, two seniors and 1 junior were inducted. Seniors inducted were Derek Rix and Heather Pendergast, and junior Tanner Frahm. They received a certificate of membership, membership card and pin, tassel, NTHS sticker emblem, and diploma seal. Current Members are Peace Akinnigbagbe and Jozlyn Anderson.
Tanner Frahm presented the seniors with their honors. Seniors receiving their graduation diploma seals and NTHS medallions, which will be worn at graduation, were Peace Akinnigbagbe, Jozlyn Anderson, and Derek Rix.
NTHS advisers are Career and Technical Education Instructors Ronita Jacobsen-Family and Consumer Sciences, Chad Kment-Agriculture Education, Kim Miller-Business, and Derek Juden Skilled and Technical Sciences.
