FCCLA Red Cross Blood Drive Exceeds Goal
Forty-six units were collected at the Red Cross Blood Drive, hosted by Plainview FCCLA Members, on Wednesday, September 21, at Plainview High School. With a goal set by the Red Cross of 39 donations, the drive was steady throughout the day and exceeded expectations.
"We would like to thank everyone for coming in to donate blood and for scheduling their appointments and using Rapid Pass. This greatly increased the flow of the drive and kept waiting time to a new low." stated FCCLA Adviser Ronita Jacobsen. "We had 3 first time donors who are students here at Plainview, and 4 more students who also donated. It is exciting to see young donors come in and return at the next drive. Everyone’s donations and commitment to donating is greatly appreciated.”
The next blood drive will be held Tuesday, November 22, from 9 am-3 pm in the Plainview High School Tartan Gym. Donors can go online at redcross.org to make their appointment. Registering early ensures the time slot that works best for you. Currently there are 54 appointment times and a goal of 41 donations. As a reminder, the total number of donations received throughout the school year determines the amount of scholarship money provided to our Plainview High School students from the Red Cross.
