FCCLA Red Cross Blood Drive Exceeds Goal
Forty-five units were collected at the Red Cross Blood Drive, hosted by Plainview FCCLA Members, on Tuesday, March 14, at Plainview High School. With a goal set by the Red Cross of 42 donations, the drive was steady throughout the day and exceeded expectations.
"We would like to thank everyone for coming in to donate blood, for scheduling their appointments, and using Rapid Pass. Using Rapid Pass increased the flow of the drive. I also thank you for your patience as the drive was held short-staffed by the Red Cross." stated FCCLA Adviser Ronita Jacobsen. “A total of 14 students and staff were able to donate, with 5 being from the sophomore class. We have an amazing community who is dedicated to donating at each drive. Everyone’s donations and commitment to donating is greatly appreciated.”
The next blood drive will be held Wednesday May 17, from 9 am-3 pm in the Plainview High School Tartan Gym. Donors can go online at redcross.org to make their appointment. Registering early ensures the time slot that works best for you. Currently there are 45 appointment times and a goal of 35 donations. As a reminder, the total number of donations of the year is what determines the amount of scholarship money given to seniors from the Red Cross.
