FCCLA Red Cross Blood Drive Meets Goal
Forty-two units were collected at the Red Cross Blood Drive, hosted by the Plainview FCCLA Chapter, on Wednesday, May 17, at Plainview High School. With a goal set by the Red Cross of 42 donations, the drive was steady throughout the day with limited wait time.
"We would like to thank everyone for coming in to donate blood, for scheduling their appointments, and using Rapid Pass. Using Rapid Pass increased the flow of the drive," stated FCCLA Adviser Ronita Jacobsen. “The drive was able to accommodate most walk-ins throughout the day. We have an amazing community who is dedicated to donating at each drive which is why we continue to meet our goal. Everyone’s donations and commitment to donating is greatly appreciated.”
The next blood drive will be held Wednesday, July 12, from 10 am-4 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Plainview Elementary School. Donors can go online at redcross.org to make their appointment. Registering early ensures the time slot that works best for you. Currently there are 47 appointment times and a goal of 35 donations. As a reminder, the total number of donations of the year is what determines the amount of scholarship money given to seniors from the Red Cross.
