Jacobsen Top 10 Finalist and Gold Medal Winner at FCCLA National Conference
“We are thrilled to share that Shayla Jacobsen has returned as a Top 10 Finalist and Gold Medal earner from the 2024 FCCLA National Leadership Conference (NLC) held in Orlando, FL from July 5-9. She competed on Sunday, so it was a long wait till Wednesday to get the results,” Jacobsen stated. “Shayla also competed in Challenge Tests while there, testing her knowledge in the areas of Child Development and Teaching. We are waiting for her placement results.”
The heart of the conference is the highly anticipated Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) Events Competition. Over 4,300 FCCLA members competed in these 35plus STAR events, where they were recognized for their proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career preparation. The students’ projects exemplify their dedication, creativity, and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others. Their accomplishment at the national level is a testament to their hard work, teamwork, and unwavering passion.
The conference themed "Dare to Dream" drew more than 10,000 students, educators, and guests from across the nation. This conference provided a valuable platform for attendees to expand their leadership skills, sharpen their talents, explore career pathways, and listen to inspiring speakers.
