FCCLA Celebrates FCCLA WEEK
CTE Month Recognition continues at Plainview as FCCLA members celebrated FCCLA Week by creating different activities throughout Feb. 9-12 which members and all students and staff could participate in. Daily FCCLA trivia questions were asked during study hall with the class that responded first receiving a bag of candy. Classrooms that received candy prizes were Mrs. Clemens, Mrs. Kush, and Mrs. Mosel.
FCCLA members jump-started the week by wearing their chapter t-shirts with “Membership Monday” and with a membership party after school and making hundreds of candygrams.
Tuesday was “FCCLA Spirit Day”. Members encouraged everyone to wear the FCCLA colors of red and white. Culinary students prepared meat and cheese trays and cookies to be served for teachers on Wednesday. FCCLA members worked the concession stand at the game that night.
Wednesday was “FCCLA Day of Service”. The snacks prepared by the Culinary students were set out for all teachers and staff. Students were on the prowl looking for hidden FCCLA symbols within the school. Makenzie Mosel, Avery Hardisty, Emma Sauser, and Addie Hodson were able to find the symbols and received prizes After school FCCLA and Educators Rising members headed to Chilvers Park to pick up trash.
Thursday was “FCS Educator Day/FCCLA Alumni Day”. The day began with candygrams being passed out to everyone before school. FCCLA President Kaydance Maertins surprised and honored Mrs. Jacobsen with a basket of her favorite treats that morning. FCCLA members also connected with alumni this week asking for them to be evaluators at state STAR competition. Members treated 7-12 staff and students to strawberry twist ice cream cones after lunch.
