CTSOs Hold Community Easter Egg
With sunshine overhead and spring in the air, the Plainview Community Easter Egg Hunt brought smiles and laughter to families on Saturday, March 21. The front lawn and playground of Plainview Elementary School were filled with brightly colored eggs, creating an exciting scene for children of all ages.
While eager participants waited for the signal to begin, they enjoyed games organized by the high school’s Child Development, Early Childhood, and Education and Training students, adding to the festive atmosphere.
This year, Plainview Ball Backers donated two toddler balance bikes, which were awarded to Riggins Schmidt and Theo Carlson. Mahaska provided Hog Wash drinks for all children, while the Plainview Chamber of Commerce partnered with FCCLA to help fund candy for the event. FCCLA also supplied prizes and snacks, ensuring every child left with a smile. The event was made possible by the efforts of students from FCCLA, Educators Rising, NTHS, and other volunteers who helped fill eggs, organize activities, and run the event.
“This truly is a community event,” said FCCLA adviser Ronita Jacobsen. “While FCCLA organizes it, it takes the entire community working together to make it a success. We enjoy finding new ways to improve each year. Thank you to the parents for bringing your children—we loved having them.”
Jacobsen added, “Our CTSO members truly enjoyed being able to host this event again. We are grateful for the sponsorships—your support made this possible.”
