FCCLA Holds Membership Kickoff
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe Plainview FCCLA Chapter held their annual kick-off on August 18th at 6:00 p.m. with this year’s theme “FCCLA-A Blizzard of Opportunities”. Following a supper and ice cream dessert provided by the officers, a slide show featuring last year’s events was viewed.
The FCCLA 2026-20027 Officers introduced themselves as: President Dakotah Albin, Vice-Ashlynn Forbes, Secretary Landon Hergert, Treasurer-Ilyanna Barron, National Programs Scarlet Torrey, and Historian-Meleah Buck.
Dakotah Albin then presented members with information about FCCLA. Members were provided a calendar of events for the school year explaining conferences, local events, competitive opportunities, confirmed concession stand dates, and information about dues. She also explained the dues and the t-shirt design was presented and voted on for this year. Attendance at the Sept. 15th Fall Leadership Conference being held at Wayne State College was discussed. The registration fee of $25, lunch included, is due to Mrs. Jacobsen by Sept. 28.
Rada Cutlery Fundraising catalogs were given to attendees who wished to fundraise for their personal accounts to help with dues, registration fees, and t-shirts. Orders and money are due by September 8. $20 Dues and $15 shirt orders money are also to be turned in by September 8th. Proceeds from fundraising may be used for their dues, t-shirts, and conference registrations.
Members then played a variety of games created by officers: Scoop Stack Relay, Pin the Cherry on the Sunday, and Design a Sundae Contest. The next FCCLA meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 25th at 6:30 pm. Members will complete the STEP ONE Activity where they will learn more about FCCLA and earn an ice cream treat.
