FCCLA Members Recognized at Awards Night
Launch the media gallery 1 playerFCCLA hosted their Awards Nights at the High School Media Center on April 22. The evening began with a welcome by President Jessica Booth. Booth began the program with the opening ceremony followed with the Year in Review presented by Baili Prewitt, Brooke Forbes, and Shayla Jacobsen.
Peace Akinnigbagbe shared information about the District Leadership Conference the chapter attended. Shayla Jacobsen presented on the Legislative Workshop. Leighton Medina followed with a presentation on the Peer Education Conference that was attended. Marlena Curtiss spoke on the events of the State Leadership Conference and State STAR Competition that members attended.
Logan Jacobsen began the presentation of awards by presenting the STEP One Certificate to Brooke Forbes. This award is for her work in learning more about FCCLA, its purposes, and programs.
Students competing in STAR events received their District STAR Competition Certificates by Devon Tunender. At districts, Shayla Jacobsen received a gold medal, and placed Runner-Up in her Repurpose and Redesign event, qualifying her for state. At state competition she received first place and qualified for nationals. Tunender presented Jacobsen with her certificate, medal, and trophy.

Seniors members, Brooklyn Kumm and Crystal Hintz were then presented their senior gifts by President Jessica Booth. The night concluded with a video of the year’s events and a dessert reception.
